23/11/17 -"EV batteries should boost the market’s demand for nickel, lithium or cobalt. As a result, there is quite high speculation on these raw materials and for the stocks associated with them. Inevitably, higher metal prices will translate into higher production at some stage (even if this does take some time) and cap prices, particularly for nickel or lithium. Of late investors looking for the (admittedly scarce) ways to play the EV battery supply-chain have moved on from battery component manufacturers to metals, starting with nickel and cobalt since a handful of listed companies offer that exposure. We have focused on the nickel side of the story as prices have started to rise sharply since the summer. "
