ABB

Note: This is a daily stock update and the information stands true as of 17/04/25, 09:00 CET.

Company Update:
Q1: Orders beat by 3%, revenue miss by 3%, profits largely in line vs. the consensus ex. one-offs. All details by division are available on the website of course.
Guidance 2025: is unchanged and the group expects MSD comparable revenue growth and an improvement in the operational EBITA margin yoy.

Robotics Spin-off: ABB plans to spin-off its Robotics business via a dividend-in-kind approach and expects it to be listed by Q2 2026. We view this as a prudent decision as despite its strengths, the Robotics business has been a drag on the group's performance over the last two to three years.

Expert Opinion:
ABB is a solid company but momentum is less favorable as demand could be hurt by tariffs. Our expert thinks the robotics expected spin-off is good news. He expects that our analyst and the consensus will have to cut their earnings for 2025. Despite the sharp duop in share price, valuation remains high, and it is too early to add to the name for the time being.
